Andrew S. Hoffman is a Research Scientist in the department of Human Centered Design & Engineering at the University of Washington. Andrew’s research is informed by perspectives in science & technology studies and pragmatic sociology, which he applies to studying coordination practices in science and medicine. He conducted his doctoral training in the department of Social Studies of Medicine at McGill University, where he deployed ethnographic methods and document analysis to analyze a federally-funded project that developed novel methods for prioritizing clinical trials in precision cancer medicine.
